Solutions to damage from flood in basements in New Jersey

New Jersey Flood Damage and Floor Restoration Solutions

Whenever we get a big storm the calls start coming in seeking solutions to ruined carpet, tile and hardwood flooring. Basements take a beating especially hard.

There are long term, economical solutions.

We have an extensive line of versatile, decorative concrete products with systems that can be applied over wood, tile and carpet glue. One of our most popular products called Skraffino concrete overlay is applied directly over existing concrete. After hurricane Irene reports from our customers was that there was zero damage to the floors after the water subsided.

An ideal solution is to apply Skraffino over concrete with area rugs to add warmth and design. If there is risk of potential flood damage, the area rugs can be rolled up and stored on high ground until after the storm. This system when properly installed has held up extremely well without damage throughout the country. We heard reports from our installers that even after Hurricane Katrina the only part of a house that survived was the foundation and a decorative concrete floor. A simple cleaning and the floors were restored.

It has been used in tough environments like high traffic grocery stores, retail stores and thousands of basements.
  3. Perdure BE58 is a moisture tolerant waterborne epoxy top coat. This sealer is ideal for floors that are at risk of future moisture problems. This sealer can be applied directly over Skarffino or directly to existing concrete surfaces.
